My kids bop from one category of entertainment to the next during a rainy Saturday here in Texas. If it isn’t the WII then its a movie in the DVD player. This is usually sandwiched between Spongebob episodes on the Tivo!

Of course, don’t forget the volumes of kid-based video games they can play on their computer. I’m not just talking about mindless, ultra-violent ”first person shooters”. You can play a whole host of education-based video games that are downright fun. This doesn’t even cover the volumes of games they can play on the web. Sites such as WebKinz, Neopets, and Club Penguin all provide not only fun games, but an entire social setting that teaches kids responsible “netiquette”. Yes, these sites are very safe and in the case of Neopets, even require a parents signed (via fax) approval letter.
